The Lighting of Breckenridge
Victorian Holidays and the Lighting of Breckenridge The Lighting of Breckenridge is a truly old-fashioned holiday celebration bringing together visitors and locals to celebrate the spirit of the season. During this celebration, the quaint Victorian town takes on the appearance of a holiday postcard, complete with wreaths, garland, and lights galore.
On December 1st, participants will gather at the Subway Restaurant (305 N. Main Street) at 4:30 pm for hot cocoa and caroling. Look for Santa to arrive at 5 pm, leading a festive procession down Breckenridge’s historic Main Street. At 5:15 the celebration will reach the Blue River Plaza for the lighting of the town tree. Following the tree’s lighting, proceed to Main Street station for visits with Santa. The Lighting of Breckenridge is the kickoff event to Victorian Holidays, a holiday festival that includes on-mountain competitions, celebrations, craft workshops, shopping specials and more!
